I was not happy with my smile or the condition of my teeth since the early ‘80’s and began to research my options. Porcelain veneers and bleaching were in their infancy and by my nature I am always leery of any new medical or dental procedure that begins to be marketed to the public. I continued to watch advances in the dental field and started hearing about more people undergoing cosmetic dental procedures with mixed results. I got serious about my own situation about 3 years ago and began to research all my options when I turned 40 years old. Thanks to my good fortune in business, cost was not an issue but quality results and care were paramount. I spent serious time researching cosmetic dentists from recommendations from family, friends, business associates and the internet.

I set up 5 cosmetic dental consults with dentists in the Dallas area and went as far away as Austin, TX. I met with some very fine accredited cosmetic dentists but was not satisfied with their treatment plans or the samples of their work. This was a big investment in terms of time and money but most importantly I would have to live with the result for a very long time and was not willing to sacrifice on a mediocre outcome. As an Executive Recruiter for some of the largest corporations in the United States my appearance in front of my clients was very important to me. I invested a great deal of time and effort in my search for a cosmetic dentist who had truly mastered his craft, had a passion for his work and did not cut corners when it came to time invested in my case. I was not satisfied with the dental talent I found in the Texas area and decided to widen my net and open up my search to the entire United States – from Coast to Coast and from Border to Border. I made contact with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and really began to study their membership and the styles of the best in the country. I began to talk to dentists all across the country and requested detailed information about their cases, their training and recent samples of their work. I even found current and past employees of these dentists through the help of my professional research skills and received a lot of inside information and detailed feedback from these sources which helped me begin to narrow my search. I truly feel the best cosmetic dentists are in New York, Florida, and Northern California.

This was one of the most important decisions of my life and I was not going to limit my search based on geography. One name continued to rise to the top. I contacted Alex Nguyen, DDS at the end of 2007 and began a lengthy telephone, and email dialogue with him. He listened to my concerns and addressed all of them to my satisfaction.
